Manuary

January 28th, 2010 (12:36 pm)

So we're close to the end of the first month in 2010.
I've had an infinitely more positive start to the year mentally than I closed out 2009 with. I'm hoping to continue with this for the next while because the cranky gloom I got myself in by November wasn't healthy.

I have decided to start this new year with an impetus to see my friends more often. Or at least make more of an effort.

Couple this with all the project I'm trying to get done, it looks like I'm going to be a busy bunny.

I'll update again soon with some of those projects and their results but in the mean time I should mention that since last we met the site I work for has changed ownership!
I am no longer under the distant iron grip of Kevin Smith but now in the all too near iron grip of Ken Plume!

He's a good friend so I'm happy for him to get this promotion.
The design and stuff is going to change a lot of the next few weeks but in the mean time, drop by and visit... FRED!

Roll Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

http://www.quickstopentertainment.com/2009/11/11/musical-myspace-tour-1/

So I've started writing a regular-ish music column.

Now this is separate to the the hip-hop reviews I'll be doing for NeedCoffee.com (which are a little thin on the ground) but is something I was thinking about doing for a while.

Essentially, we all get MySpace friend invites from complete strangers on a regular basis. Everyone does. Constantly. And for the most part it's been an easy thing for bands to do and a bit of a nuisance for the rest of us.

It's pay back time.

I will be reviewing in full, ALL bands who try to add me as a friend on MySpace. For better or for worse. Mostly worse.

If you're a band and want to risk my wrath for the chance of having a couple thousand of people read about you on QuickStopEntertainment.com you can try your luck at:

Go on, I dare you.

I always forget to update here. I apologise.
I do however update www.twitter.com/aaronfever a lot and there's is facebook and there is MySpace and then there are the forums I frequent...

It's hard to fit in a life to blog about with all these sites.

Recently I wrote a Halloween artice for NeedCoffee.com
http://www.needcoffee.com/2009/10/31/halloween-ireland/
It's all about the history of the day and how a lot of it came from Ireland.
NeedCoffee always go guns blazing for Halloween and if you missed some of the great stuff you should browse around.

I recently moved into a new apartment with my girlfriend. Things got rocky between us at one stage so I'm a little in shock we got this far. But we have and I'm happy to be here.
Although I hate landlords. All of them.

The not too distant trip to the states went well for me in a "got to see some good friends" sense but was a disaster professionally. I won't go into details but I was let down.
Life goes on but I'm stalling on projects due to the house move and the little blow to my ego.
There has been a comedy vid planned for Christmas so fingers crossed I can get my act together by then.

Good people Paul & Storm and hairy man Jonathan Coulton are coming to town this week. I've been helping them with their merch so if you're going to the Dublin gig on Nov 6 in the Acadamy 2 you'll see me.
Very possibly with a smile on my face.

Work is busy so I'll end this now.
HELLO!

Here is a video a made of the launch and the fun I had that day at it.

Recent shenanigans has enabled us to get some proper sound equipment. It doesn't make Cabin Fever any higher brow but... at least we sound clearer
The latest offering can be found at the link below or on iTunes

http://www.quickstopentertainment.com/2009/08/20/cabin-fever-74/

To help us buy better, fancier equipment and do other stupid shit for your entertainment, please feel free to donate below.

Along with my Cabin Fever co-host, I've been writing Hip-Hop reviews over at NeedCoffee.com. The first of which can be found at the link below

http://www.needcoffee.com/2009/08/20/cabin-fever-vs-hip-hop/#comment-255160

And while you're there, check out the other podcast I chime in on. It's called Weekend Justice and includes the wonderful Widget Walls, the cantankerous Ken Plume and a host of NeedCoffee aficionados.
The most recent again can be either found through the following link or iTunes

Outside of all that I've managed to squeeze some extra time to go to America once again.
First I'll be stopping off in Texas to check out good friends and musical gods The Tastydactyls as they launch their new EP "We Do" on the 30th of August at Art Ambush in Waco.
Go check them out if you love good music, you'll be able to get all the details you need, plus a teaser for the EP at their MySpace page

http://www.myspace.com/thetastydactyls

Then, on labor day weekend, I'll be stepping out in Atlanta once more for Dragon*Con.

But that's a whole other kettle of fish, so I'll update you on that closer to it. There is plenty involved.

So now that I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on film equipment, I thought I might keep people informed on what I'm doing with it. And this is the first thing.
For anyone who doesnt know, I've been trying to make some videos for The this is the first which I will hope can cut the mustard, it's based on a loved up robot named Glenn. I made the outfit out of cardboard and it's a bitch to get on. I thought I would demonstrate such with the vid.
Enjoy!

Call Me

April 15th, 2009 (12:36 pm)
rushed

Latest Mood Swing: rushed

I'm always fascinated by people who say they hate answering machines.
They claim that they don't like talking to a machine or that they don't know what to say.

I feel bad for answering machines.
They get a bad rap.

They sit around all day while you're out galivanting around town.
All they want is for you to talk to them. Say a little something. Or to check in and find out if they have anything to say to you once in a while.
They are polite, they even give you a little beep to let you know they've finished talking.
They don't talk back.
They don't disturb you when you're watching something on TV. In fact, they make sure no-one does.
They don't judge you.

Answering machines are lovely. If you don't like talking to them you're a bit rude.
